Functional
Through its library interface, MTK provides users access to GIS functionality such as coordinate conversions. DSCI ships the product with a series of MIL-STD 2525 icons for use in the developer's applications.
Comprehensive
MTK supports all of the standard industry mapping formats used in typical situational awareness applications. CADRG, CIB, and ADRG are supported in a run-time manner, as are GeoTIFF and other photo-imagery formats.
Open Architecture
Since MTK comes as a development library, users can utilize the well-documneted interface to create common operating pictures (COP) to specifically meet their needs. OpenGL is used for the reading of the graphical data and MTK allows users access to the rendering buffer to support specific drawing routines. MTK uses DSCI's standard overlay language, allowing users to create unique 2D overlays in their applications.
Special Effects
MTK supports synthetic effects for a more realistic situational awareness capability. Effects such as weapons pairing, entity "follow-me" trails, and many others are standard with MTK. Custom effects can be easily created by the end user and integrated into MTK.
Source Examples
DSCI releases the source code to a Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) situational awareness map application. This fully-functional application highlights examples of the library's capabilities.

DSCI's Unsolicited Ideas Policy
For a cutting-edge and cost-effective solution for your situational awareness needs, look no further than DSCI's MAP TOOLKIT (MTK). The map rendering application of the MIRAGE product suite, MTK was designed to be a cross platform development tool to create robust tactical mapping applications. MTK is a real-time software library comprised of programs to render raster graphics onto a drawing surface for solider tracking, vehicle tracking, and command and control interface applications.
